About Me

Zack and Kristin at Amanda’s wedding

What I like

Most of all I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend, Zack. Watching movies while cuddling up with Linus ( what we call our blanket) makes for a relaxing evening. We attend church and delight in listening to Contemporary Christian music including Casting Crowns, Sidewalk Prophets, Meredith Andrews, Seventh Day Slumber, Skillet and Matthew West to name a few. I relish Japanese food and have devloped an appreciation for Mexican. Exercising has proved to help me feel more energized and soccer, basketball and volleyball are my top favorite sports. I take pleasure in all of the seasons, but I look forward to the newness of Spring with the beautiful flowers and warm sunny days.

What I look like

I am about 5′ 5″ tall with green eyes and blond hair. Sometimes I wear glasses. Other times I wear contacts. My looks can be somewhat versatile. I can scrunch my hair for a curly look, but most of the time I dry it straight. At other times I use a curling iron and very rarely, though this is my favorite, I have my hair braided while it is wet at night for a wavy look the next day. Recently I began wearing skinny jeans even though before I said I would never wear them. They are the only ones that look right with tall boots though.

What I Dislike

One of my pet peeves is yelling and arguing. I would rather people talk things through in a calm and rational manner. When you are screaming at someone, you are either being accusatory or just telling your side. Therefore you can’t listen to the other person’s point of view.  Another thing is careless spending. I believe in saving and budgeting your money. I do not like the idea of borrowing money, so when I think about having to buy a house it worries me. I wish we could all go and pick money off of a money tree. :) Another topic of dissention is gossiping and talking about others. Ggggrrrrr!!!!!!!! Following these are lying, cheating, and stealing. Also, something that never touches my tongue is peppermint. Yuck! I am not fond of pinto beans either.

How I Act

I consider myself to be accepting of others and friendly. Also I believe patience is a virtue and I try to have this quality, especially since I will be working with children. Sometimes I am quiet, but other times I enjoy talking and I love to laugh. Being silly is so much fun and I love to see others smile. I try to be understanding and cooperate with others. Also I am somewhat of a careful or cautious person.

I Am Poem

I am a caring Christian

I wonder if you are

I hear the voice of God

I see evidence that He is real

I want you to accept Christ as your Savior

I am a caring Christian

I pretend at times things are ok even if they might not be so as not to spread negative feelings

I feel compassion for the souls of others

I hope to touch your life with what you are reading

I worry that you think Christians are supposed to be perfect people. Definitely not true. Everyone has sinned and falls short of the glory of God.

I cry because God loves me so much that he sent his one and only son to die on the cross for my sins so that I could have everlasting life in heaven

I am a caring Christian

I understand that Christ died on a cross to pay for the sins of this world including yours and mine

I say read your Bible to understand what God says. Pray for discernment. Nobody else can save you. Trust Jesus today!

  1. Admit you are a sinner. See Romans 3:10.
  2. Be willing to turn from sin (repent) See Acts 17:30
  3. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried and rose from the dead. See Romans 10:9-10
  4. Through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become your personal Savior. See Romans 10:13

Here is a simple prayer for you to pray to be saved:

Dear God,

I am a sinner and need forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ shed his precious blood and died for my sin. I am willing to turn from my sin. I now invite Christ to come into my heart and life as my personal Savior.

It really is that simple. We must come to God with childlike faith.

I dream of seeing the face of God

I try to live my life how Jesus would

I hope you do

I am a caring Christian

  1. I really like your poems and how you used God and Jesus throughout them. You are a great person and I am glad you are in my life!

    • Thank you. I think it is very important for everyone to know the most important decision they will ever have to make in their life. The teacher asked me if this was really a poem and I said “It is my poem.” When I saw the layout it just seemed a great opportunity to witness to everyone in class.

  2. I love your poems!! I love that you are such a proud Christian!

    • Thank you. It is evident that you are a Christian by your words and actions. You are so friendly and never be afraid to share what you believe with others.

  3. This is such a wonderful insight to your faith.

    • Thank you. I don’t want to leave our class and not have showed others the way to have everlasting life. This decision is the most important one anyone can make in this life. God desires to have us for a friend and for us to develop an ongoing relationship with him today!

  4. Kristin,

I thought that both of your poems were really special. I liked the fact that you used your I am poem to show more of yourself to us. It was wonderful

    • Thank you Heather. I believe writing is a great way to reflect on what you are thinking and make sure to include all of what you want to say.

  5. Kristen-

I liked the “In love with my boyfriend” you are very sweet! I did not know your faith was so strong – I envy that!

    • Thanks Melissa. I try to do things to keep me in touch with God. I write letters to him and Zack and I bought a devotional book to do together. It takes about 15 mins. It is really for married couples but we couldn’t find one for people who are dating. He doesn’t even like to read but this was his idea. His home life wasn’t that great so he is trying extra hard at working at having a good relationship.

  6. Kristen,
What an awesome witness!! You are right, this poem was an excellent opportunity to share God’s love and I applaud your boldness!! Thanks

    • Thanks. I want to live my life so that others will see Jesus in me. He deserves all the praise and glory and honor.

  7. Kristin, so glad you met Zack this summer. I know he means a lot to you.

  8. Awesome poem and testimony. I would like to extend the invitation to you and who ever else you know to come to freedom worship sometime. Its at tri-city on sundays at 8 (early I know)…Its like a “modern” worship.

    • I’m not sure where Tri City is. Sounds cool, I enjoy contemporary music. I am a member at Clover Baptist church but most of the time I go to Covenant Baptist on Connelly Spring Rd. where my boyfriend Zack goes.

  9. Kristen,
It’s nice to see pictures of you and your boyfriend, I am glad things are going so well for you! Great usage of adjectives – did you use a thesaurus or is that your natural writing style?
